Juvenile probation
If a youngster committed a criminal offence and comes into contact with the police and the courts, they may be subject to a youth probation measure. This is often part of a juvenile sentence. If that happens, Youth Care supports the youngster and their family.
A youngster is then assigned a counsellor of Youth Care. Together, they draw up a plan to ensure that the youngster stays out of trouble and complies with the conditions. The aim is to keep the youngster on the straight and narrow and ensure that they do not reoffend. If this succeeds, it is beneficial for both the youngster and society.
