To be eligible for the health insurance BES, you must register with ZJCN. You can obtain a registration form from ZJCN or download the form here. There are a number of rules and conditions attached to registration. The main conditions are:

Newborns / minors

Newborns and minors are registered with an extract from the population register. This extract must in any case state the nationality.

Registration based on residency

Persons can register if they are legally resident on one of the islands and have a sedula / ID card.

Registration based on a residence permit or a declaration of legal status

Persons with a declaration of legal status or a temporary or permanent residence permit can register for the duration of the permit.

Registration based on an application for renewal of a residence permit

Persons who applied to the IND for an extension or continuation of their permit in good time can register until a final decision has been made on their application.

Registration based on an employer's statement

Persons with an employment agreement whose wages are subject to the Wage Tax Act BES can register for the duration of the employment agreement.

Persons with a Provisional Residence Permit (PRP)

Persons with a Provisional Residence Permit (PRP) cannot be registered as insured persons and are therefore not entitled to healthcare. Only once these persons have obtained a residence permit from the IND can they register with ZJCN.
